Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"My wife really enjoyed the food, and we’re both looking forward to coming back to try more from the menu. The place is small, clean, and cozy. There’s not much in terms of interior design or decor, but at the end of the day, you come to a restaurant for the food, so that’s secondary. The best part? The service—everyone was super attentive, helpful, and made us feel really welcome. The food was good, but nothing mind-blowing. We started with the roasted cauliflower and beef cheek soup—both decent, but not particularly memorable. For mains, the sea bass was easily the best dish—the skin was perfectly crispy, and the fish was cooked just right. The chile en nogada was a bit underwhelming, but that’s understandable since this is an Oaxacan restaurant. Dessert was amazing, though, and I paired it with a cacao coffee that honestly tasted like heaven. If you’re looking for a solid meal with great service, I’d recommend it—just don’t expect anything over-the-top. The bill for two came out to 1,200 pesos, which felt fair for the experience."
"From my look at the menu and their Instagram. The menu may be seasonal, so what I had if not reoccurring you may not be able to eat. But the lobster paste was worth thirds. It was flavorful and delicious. I wanted more after and kept telling myself I’ve never had a dish where parley was a prominent flavor and wasn’t too overpowering. It was just enough and made the experience worthwhile. Would place this on your top 10 to visit while in Mexico City."
"This is a wonderful restaurant. The menu is somewhat limited but excellent fare! Excellent prepared food with caring. You can't get a bad meal there. Highly recommended!"
"Amazing service and awesome food, traditional recipes with a creative touch."
"The food and dessert is delicious here. They have really high quality options. You can tell they put a lot of detail and attention to their food."
"A great place to eat at. We had breakfast which was quite good, the best part was the bakery section, if you are looking for a good Oaxacan food option, give this place a try."
"Really good neo Mexican cuisine from oaxaca. Small menu which guarantees its freshness. Great service, delicious drinks."
"Great place with one of the greatest mexican food concepts in Mexico, this food concept of the State of Oaxaca is amazing, bakery definetly the best part of this experience. If you are visiting Mexico City in this area, you should visit Mixtli, you will love it!"
